WiN-Canada is calling for speakers for the 2019 Annual Conference

We are pleased to invite you to submit an application to present at our 16th Annual Women in Nuclear Canada Conference on Monday, September 23rd, 2019 at the Unifor Family Education Centre in Port Elgin, Ontario. Our theme this year is I ♥ Nuclear; highlighting the impact women have on the nuclear industry while exploring how we can add "heart" to the public discourse. By harnessing personal storytelling and sharing our lived experiences in the nuclear industry, we believe we can change people’s hearts and minds. Make it personal; tell your story!

Session Formats:

1. TED talk style presentations

2. Technical breakout sessions

TED talk style presentation will be 10 minutes (subject to change) followed by a brief 5 minute Q&A period. The committee is looking for dynamic, engaging talks that highlight how “I ♥ Nuclear”. The focus of the talks can showcase the following: 

- What do you care about? Nuclear medicine, climate change…

- Who are you helping/working for? Mentoring, teaching…,

- What’s your personal story? 

- How has the nuclear industry changed your life?

- Who has inspired you?

Technical breakout sessions: What do you love about your job, the industry? What’s the coolest thing you do?

Overall the goal is to bring some heart to the discussion. By using your personal stories and feelings about the industry we can change people’s hearts and minds.
