Call for Proposals Now Open
We are so excited to finally be able to unite for our annual in-person conference in Niagara Falls, Ontario from September 25th to 29th, 2022.
Our theme for 2022 is "Forward Together" and we will be highlighting the vital role women play in all applications of nuclear science and radiation technology.
Objectives:
The objectives of the conference are to:
- Exchange information on the latest developments, trends and challenges in the nuclear field;
- Provide opportunities for WiN Canada members and chapters to share experience.
- Communicate and raise public awareness of the benefits of nuclear science and technology
- Foster interest among women in pursuing careers in nuclear-related fields
Program Opportunities:
The Program Committee invites applicants to submit an abstract for an oral presentation (20 mins) as part of the program. In keeping with the theme of “Forward Together” WiN Canada encourages applicants to submit presentations which emphasize the positive aspects of using nuclear technologies as well as those which convey personal or professional stories of optimism and success.
Note: WiN Canada would like to provide a special invitation to students who are enrolled in post-secondary institutions in programs (including internship or co-op programs) that are aligned to the Nuclear Industry to submit a paper noted above.
The Call for Papers (Oral Presentations) will be included in the program as breakout sessions. Topics for submission can include, but are not limited to, the following topics:
- Leadership and Personal Development
- Safeguards and Non-Proliferation
- Isotopes Use and/or Production
- SMRs
- Innovation in Nuclear
- Decommissioning/Waste Management
- Climate Change
- Sustainability and Environment
- Research and Development
- Diversity and Inclusion
- Other (Please Specify)
The target audience for this conference is comprised of professionals working in the nuclear industry, government, supply chain and other stakeholders. Representation from all aspects of the nuclear industry is expected.
Abstracts:
Abstract submissions should not exceed more than 300 words on one of the topics listed above. The abstract should provide enough information on the contents of the proposed paper to enable the Program Committee to evaluate the submission.
Please attach your current bio or CV to your submission.
Note: If you plan to co-present, please have the person who will be the primary presenter submit the abstract application.

Proposal Evaluation:
The Program Committee will evaluate all proposals submitted by the deadline. Proposals will be evaluated in two ways:
- Merit and clarity of the 300-word abstract; and
- Completeness of the proposal, particularly having well-developed content to understand all relevant aspects of the topic.
Individuals with proposals chosen for inclusion in the WiN Canada Annual Conference will be notified no later than July 30th, 2022.
