From Do-er to Leader:

A Few Deliberate Shifts Can Change Everything

Everyone has the potential to move from trusted do-er to credible leader by making a few intentional shifts in beliefs and behaviours.

In this practical session, global leadership coach Adrienne Kelbie CBE shares her top three tips for stepping up in high-hazard and complex sectors. The session is designed for women aspiring to their first or next leadership role.

Adrienne brings real-world experience, having progressed from temporary PA to CEO and Board Chair, building a cross-sector leadership career without a university degree.

Join us on Tuesday, February 17 at 2:00 PM CT / 3:00PM ET to explore what these leadership shifts look like in practice.

Speakers:

Adrienne Kelbie CBE is a leadership coach and board adviser who worked her way up from temp PA to CEO and Chair roles. She works with leaders across high-hazard and complex sectors including energy, engineering, and infrastructure. Her career has spanned technical delivery, public accountability, organisational transformation, and board-level leadership, giving her a rare perspective on how decisions are made when the stakes are high and the scrutiny is real.

Before becoming a full-time coach and adviser, her roles included Chair of the UK’s Nuclear Waste Services, CEO of the UK’s nuclear safety regulator, and two-time Patron for Women in Nuclear UK. These roles demanded judgement, influence, and credibility at the highest levels. She understands first-hand the transition from being valued for personal expertise to being trusted for leadership presence and strategic thinking.

Adrienne now supports leaders stepping up a level, from early career professionals through to executives navigating organisational change, growth, or heightened accountability. Her work focuses on helping capable people see their blind spots, strengthen their voice, and take ownership of decisions and direction without losing authenticity or technical depth.

Adrienne is particularly passionate about supporting women and under-represented groups in technical and safety-critical industries and knows that diverse teams outperform homogeneous ones. She believes leadership is less about personality and more about agency, judgement, and contribution. Through coaching, speaking, and advisory work, she helps individuals and organisations unlock potential that needs only the right support to shine.

She also holds the distinction of being the only person to collect a Queens Honour from Windsor Castle in a campervan.  But that’s another story…
