WiN GHW - Nuclear Family Day - McMaster University Nuclear Operations & Facilities Tour

Women in Nuclear Golden Horseshoe West and McMaster University’s Nuclear Operations & Facilities (NOF) would like to invite you to Nuclear Family Day! This is an opportunity to bring your loved ones (ages 10 and older) to visit a nuclear facility and to learn about radiation and its applications in medicine.

Please join us for a tour of the McMaster Nuclear Reactor (MNR) and a "Women in Astronomy" show at the W. J. McCallion Planetarium in Hamilton on August 1^st 2023.  

The evening will include:

- A brief presentation by McMaster NOF's Dr. Karin Stephenson, Director of Research & Education Support, and Dr. Erica Dao, Manager of Nuclear Outreach & Education about what radiation is and how it can be used in medicine

- A tour of the McMaster Nuclear Reactor (MNR) for those aged 10 and older

- A "Women in Astronomy" show at the W. J. McCallion Planetarium

- Light refreshments

Space is limited to 60 participants. 

Cost: $5+tax per attendee

Registrations and cancellations will be available until July 27, 2023.
