Empowering Women is a program that enables women to view leadership through the lens of communication – supporting them to develop the skills needed to be seen as strong, confident leaders. Empowering Women achieves this by addressing fundamental communication habits that often reduce women’s ability to come across as influential leaders in their organizations. In this program women learn how to communicate effectively, and get their points across without sounding defensive or tentative, so they can be seen and heard as leaders. They discover how to adopt an empowered mindset, script themselves with clarity and intention, unlock the power of their voice, and achieve a confident and authentic presence.

The Humphrey Group is pleased to offer this program in a fully virtual experience. As with our in-person learning experience, group sizes are capped at a 10:1 participant to instructor ratio to ensure ample individual feedback and opportunities for social learning. Participants will leave this program with skills they have already had a chance to apply, test, and receive feedback on over the course of the virtual delivery experience.

We are offering a morning OR afternoon session of the Empowering Women program. Both sessions have the same content; please choose what works best for your schedule.

Cohort 2: Mondays 3:00 p.m.- 4:30 p.m. (EST)

  • Monday May 17 - Session 1 - Pre-work video: Leadership Identity and Live Session: Embrace your leadership identity 

  • Monday May 31 - Session 2 - Pre-work video: The Leader’s Script and Leadership Language and Live Session: Share your ideas with impact

  • Monday June 7 - Session 3 - Pre-work video: Voice of a Leader,  Live session: Unlock the power of your voice and Post-session video: Leadership Presence

  • Monday June 21 - Session 4 - Pre-work reading: Listen, Listen, Listen and Live Session: Leading in conversations and conflict

What's included:

  • Pre-session virtual videos learning

  • 1-year access to the online self learning

  • 30 minutes of 1-1 virtual coaching time with an instructor from The Humphrey Group

  • 4 virtual sessions (1.5 hours each) facilitated live by an instructor from The Humphrey Group

Facilitator: 


Elissa Landsell 

Elissa is a Consultant based in our Toronto office. She delivers private coaching and group seminars for our firm, and draws upon her experience as a television host, writer, producer and voice actor in working with leaders. Elissa seeks to equip her clients to build advocacy for their ideas by taking a planned and purposeful approach to communication. Elissa’s professional broadcast experience enables her to quickly and effectively demonstrate for clients the ways in which they can strengthen their leadership presence. She provides direct and constructive feedback that enables immediate, experience-based learning, and produces lasting results. Elissa’s clients value her engaging manner and her ability to create a comfortable environment in which they can challenge themselves to build. Elissa earned her BA in English and Political Science (Honours) from the University of Toronto’s Trinity College, and completed a graduate program at Ryerson University in Radio and Television Arts.
