Women in Nuclear Canada Mentorship Program 2026 (Tuesday, June 23, 2026)

Building on past success, Women in Nuclear Canada is pleased to be launching the 2026-2027 Mentorship Program! This year's cohort will include expert advice, new features, and enhanced ways to connect with your mentor/mentee and other participants.

The program will enable Women in Nuclear Canada members to achieve their professional development goals through a mentoring relationship. Members can participate as a mentee, mentor, or both. Mentors may take on more than one mentee if desired. The program will be facilitated through MentorCity, an online mentoring platform that helps you track your progress, manage your mentoring relationship, and even host virtual mentoring meetings.

Key Dates

Mentor and Mentee registration and building of profiles on online platform - June 23rd, 2026 to August 5th, 2026
Self-directed matching process and confirmation of mentoring relationships – August

Fee for Program

Includes access to online platform for the duration of the Mentoring Program

Mentors: FREE
Mentees*: $150 + HST
- Mentees may also participate as a mentor if desired. Only individuals wishing to serve exclusively as a mentor can participate free of charge

Students: $50 + HST (maximum 50 students)

*Mentees are limited to a maximum of one mentor, and mentors can have two mentees. This was determined to improve the quality of the relationship and experiences created.

Join Women in Nuclear Bruce Chapter for an engaging virtual webinar highlighting the women driving one of Canada's most exciting clean energy projects - Bruce C.

Hear directly from a panel of professionals across engineering, environment, engagement, and regulatory affairs as they share their career journey, insights, and experiences working on the Bruce C project.

The session will include a moderated panel discussion followed by a live Q&A. Join the event to connect, learn, and be inspired.

Tour of the Douglas Point Decommissioning Project (Wednesday, July 15, 2026)

EmPOWERed Women: Taking the Stage is a program that enables women to view leadership through the lens of communication – supporting them to develop the skills needed to be seen as strong, confident leaders. EmPOWERed Women achieves this by addressing fundamental communication habits that often reduce women’s ability to come across as influential leaders in their organizations. In this program participants will learn how to communicate effectively and discover how to adopt an empowered mindset, speak with clarity and intention, unlock the power of their voice, and achieve a confident and authentic presence. Women In Nuclear Canada is pleased to offer this specific cohort as an in-person experience. Group sizes are capped at a 12:2 participant to instructor ratio to ensure ample individual feedback and opportunities for social learning. Participants will leave this program with skills they have already had a chance to apply, test, and receive feedback on over the course of the experience.

Join Women in Nuclear (WiN) Manitoba for an exclusive Nuclear Facility Tour of the Canadian Nuclear Laboratories' (CNL) Whiteshell Laboratories Restoration Project (WLRP).

Are you or your organization interested in:

A career in the nuclear field and in learning more about nuclear professions?
Seeing the facilities, equipment, and programs involved in a major nuclear project?
Learning more about the historic operations of a nuclear research site?

With an area of 11,000 acres, the Whiteshell Laboratories site is a former nuclear research and test facility, and one of the biggest environmental restoration projects in Canada. We invite you to explore the campus and discover the impactful contributions of women working in this dynamic environment.

The Whiteshell Laboratories site tour will include guided tours of the Whiteshell Reactor 1 (WR-1), which played a key role in Canada's nuclear history, achieving criticality in 1965 and serving for 20 years as a research reactor that, among other missions, became a testing site for the CANDU fleet.

The tour will also take visitors to the Hot Cells, the Fire Hall, and an environmentally focused bus tour of the Main Campus and Waste Management Area.

Participants will also have the opportunity to connect with women working at the Whiteshell Laboratories site and Subject Matter Experts in the nuclear field. We welcome you to learn more about nuclear-related professions and to engage with the WiN Manitoba Leading Group for partnership opportunities.
